Bio

Kenny works primarily on understanding the science behind porous electrode manufacturing and in applying continuum modeling to battery engineering. He received a B.S. degree in chemical engineering at Caltech, M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in chemical engineering at UIUC under Prof. Jon Higdon, and performed postdoctoral research at LBNL under Venkat Srinivasan (now at Argonne National Lab). He is the primary author of PyGDH https://sites.google.com/a/lbl.gov/pygdh/, an open-source Python package for solving user-specified discretized equations with the finite volume method (FVM) on 1D and simple 2D spatial domains.
