Tianyu Zhu joined the Liu group at LBNL in 2020 as a Postdoctoral Scholar. He received his B.S. degree from Nanjing University in 2015, where he worked on lithium-sulfur batteries with Prof. Dongshan Zhou. He then moved to Columbia, SC for his graduate program and obtained his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Chuanbing Tang. His graduate research was focused on synthetic polymer electrolytes and nanocomposites. Now he works on the design and synthesis of functional organics and composites, aiming for advanced lithium-ion batteries. Outside of the lab, Tianyu always enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and hiking.
